Scooters, smarties and milkshakes – Canberra family photographer

I am always excited to try something new in a family photosession, especially with repeat clients. So, when I told Tash that I wanted to create images of her and her son riding scooters through the park and having a milkshake on what was a fairly cold day, and she agreed, I was thrilled. The resulting pictures capture their mother-son relationship in a unique and authentic way.

2014 ACT Family Photographer of the Year – A Finalist!

Last weekend, the 2014 AIPP/Epson ACT State Photography Awards were held. Images in various categories are judged by some of Australia’s top photographers. This year, I entered the Family Category with some of my client work. It was both nerve-wracking and exciting to watch my prints being critiqued and scored, and I was very pleased when I ended up with three Silver Awards!

Even better, the sum of my scores put me in the running for the 2014 ACT Family Photographer of the Year award! At the presentation dinner last night, I was thrilled to be announced as a Finalist.

Many thanks to my oh-so-photogenic clients. Below are some pictures of my awards and entries.

You can also have a peek at my name on the list of ACT Award Winning Photographers here, and check out some of their amazing images.

And, in writing this post I’ve realised that I forgot to share that I entered the National Awards last year, with this image. It also won a Silver in the National Awards!
